What matches do you usually shoot? I might take you up on that.

OKCGC, H&H, USSA, all the local ones when I get to make it. Last couple of weeks the heat and/or rain has been interfering with my motivation. One thing I don't have is mag carriers, err, well, the ones I have are borrowed and will be returned shortly. I got everything else.

No, you aren't allowed in SS class :angry3:.
Stay in production........
this :nono1:

Haha...well I'm giving you a head start. Plenty of time to fix that rear sight! :hey3:
not really :grumble:

The sight's fixed, although I don't think that or the head start are going to help much.
and this.

Mike, you probably should talk to Dr. Greyson a little. If it's 1911, he'll have some pretty sound advice.

I have another dumb question...

Is buying a well used, but quality 1911 (i.e.: STI, LB, etc.) a bad idea? I mean like 15-20K rounds. Do slides and frames and fire control parts stay pretty tight? I would consider having it re-barreled.

If the price was right, I'd probably buy it. Any of the worn components can be replaced. I hope that 15-20k isn't the life of a gun. It wouldn't take long to get there using it for competition a couple times a month, and practicing a couple times a week as well.

Haha...or take away my rear sight?

The more I look at these $1,500 pistols the more inclined I am get just go w/ something cheaper, like a Spartan or Sig GSR.

Rear sight, Front sight, both........

Both STI & Sig Make a good product.
I don't think either one would be a bad choice.

I've got a S&W 1911 I have shot in SS in USPSA matches. I really like it for the price point. It has everything I want in a 1911 and I have yet to have a malfunction.
