Hey guys,
I stopped into a couple of shops today and have talked to a few others, and while they are currently sold out of everything they have more inbound. A lot of shops had somewhere between 50 and 100 of a single lower on order prior to the amazing sales rush, not to mention other parts. After talking to the shops (I'm in the market for two lowers), most said they don't have any intention on gouging and will honor the prices they have been charging. The caveat to that was if the manufacturers plan on raising their wholesale prices. I understand that businesses need to make money, and that that has a direct correlation to the price that they pay the manufacturer so it's possible prices will have to go up. That said, the local shops and those not so local that I've talked to have stated that right now nothing is going up. How true it is, I don't know.

So what do you think? Have you seen local shops trying to put the screws to their customers? Am I crazy to think that I'll be able to pick up the lowers I'm looking for in the next couple of weeks at a reasonable cost?

Whoa! Those are both outrageous. I just don't get it. This is just more of a reason to support my local stores again. It's amazing how sleazy people will get when chasing the almighty dollar.

savage trading is local to me, its in yukon

Ouch. I guess I'm fortunate out here. They were sold out of 5.56 and .223, but said they were going to be getting some in with no price increase. I hope that holds true.

I plan on stopping by either sooner state pawn or marks firearms tomorow to check there prices and stock

I heard from Tommy, and that's likely where I'll be headed when he gets some lowers in. When I talked with Tommy he didn't have anything but stripped polymer lowers in. They've been good to me in the past, and are worth the drive if they have what I need.

restocking at wholesalers higher prices are going to be part of the drive to higher prices. replacement cost has to be taken into account, just like we are experiancing.
