LOL. I saw what you did there.

Another thing that hit me...I think Phil was set up. Why? Anyone that has watched the show knows where his heart is and could easily understand his Christian beliefs. So, how in the world did the interviewer think he would react? And why was the situation that created the question even a part of the discussion? Why wasn't the question list full of questions like; Hi Phil, do you prefer hip waders or bib waders?

I was thinking about this today. Some "Gotcha" journalism maybe?

We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate.We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.*

This is a measured and thoughtful response, and I respect the family for clearly setting the tone by placing family loyalty and personal integrity above commercial interests at the outset of what are no doubt ongoing behind-the-scenes negotiations.

am not sure what free speech has to do with the contracts between the actor and the network. He's probably not even on a W2, but rather a 1099 and isn't directly employed by the network. The Constitutional aspect of this is laughable. Personally I still they're short-sighted as a business for suspending him (he's a minister from the South, is this shocking? Really?), and he's free and entitled to voice his thoughts on Christianity however silly they may be to me. But to say anyone was wronged beyond the employer/contractor involved in the dispute is absurd. This is just a contact law matter. Big. Fawking. Deal. To me an everyone else.

So I guess I am perpetuating it some by talking about it, but I am not aghast by A&E or Phil. I am just amazed so many people have such strong opinions about one way or the other.

How is the constitutional aspect laughable? Him being fired for saying he is anti gay is no different than a person being fired for saying that he is gay. I could understand somewhat id Phil said all of that on DD but he was off the clock.

Im just guessin here but I bet the praying at the family dinner at the end of the show was what really bothered the libs......

That's been brought up...

‘Duck Dynasty’ Star: Show Adding ‘Fake Bleeps’ Despite No Cursing

[Robertson also said that the name Jesus has been cut out during the family’s prayer scene at the end of the show.

“So they would just have me saying, ‘Thank you Lord for the food, thank you for loving us. Amen.’ So I said, ‘Why would you cut out ‘In Jesus’ name?’ They said, ‘Well those editors are probably doing that. They just think that they don’t want to offend some of the Muslims or something.’”

Robertson said that since that conversation the show has been leaving “Jesus” in the show...]

That will be good if they do so we won't have to watch the channel's stupid commercials for their show's such as rodeo girls or storage wars: new york.

An openly gay couple on A&E's "Storage Wars: New York" is NOT offended by the homophobic comments made by fellow A&E'er and "Duck Dynasty" star*Phil Robertson*-- telling TMZ, they just feel bad for him ... because man ass beats vagina any day of the week.

Chris Morelli*and*Tad Eaton*tell us, "We could give a s**t what he thinks ... [man ass] is tighter."

Because an employer can (not necessarily should) terminate contractors for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is expressing opinions contrary to those of and potentially unprofitable to the employer.

Now I doubt Phil was actually EMPLOYED by A&E but rather the two enterprises had a contract for the filming. But even if they were actually on payroll, A person's sexual preference is a protected class. Professing someone to be a sinner does not make one a protected class.

I've been told repeatedly by people acquainted with the Roberston's that "what you see is what you get"; they are no different in real life. I would be shocked and disappointed if they did not stick together.
