It could be his POS system. Even on a cash sale our POS requires at minimum a name.

A simple fix for this is to simply say, "Bond, James Bond." While their POS may require a name it does not need to be correct, they can easily put in John Doe if they want.

I am 110% on the bandwagon with not giving out info to every little twerp that asks for it. Go in for a haircut going to pay cash they want name phone number and email address. I mean come on it's a haircut, I get enough junk as it is and there is NO WAY you are going to call me for a date.

Here is another one I overheard the other day at Walmart in Guthrie. Woman was in purchasing some .380 didn't know what she wanted and the cashier couldn't figure out a price so she starts grabbing boxes of everything. She comes across one that was cheap and didn't know how many rounds was in a box of self defense ammo, I mentioned it would probably be 20 or 25 being nice. Woman went with a 50 round box of something for a couple bucks more. The cashier asks for ID, I looked at the woman and was kinda like, really, Oh for her age. The cashier promptly says no I am going to scan it. I asked what for and she flat said she scans EVERY ID for any ammo purchases, it's not store policy but she is going to do it anyway. Since I was just looking for a few I walked off but I can guarantee that if I was going to make a purchase she would not have scanned my ID and the store manager would have been brought in over it. Some of the employee's at places seem to feel that they have the power to make up policy above and beyond what is required.

My feeling is we do not live in Russia, Kommiefornia or the Northern Republic of Illinois and if they want to have it that way they can by all means move to one of those places.

I know it's a bit of topic drift ... but I suspect it's only a matter of time. I was truly astounded how many people in on Facebook said they're really glad that firearms and ammo purchases are no longer allowed ... many in local OK groups. When asked many say they don't even know why they feel that way, just that it's the way they think it should be - more victims of MSM indoctrination I suspect.

Yep. My favorite is when people at Wal-Mart ask to see a receipt. I just say no thanks and keep on walking. They don't do it much anymore, I think Wal-Mart figured it was a waste of manpower.

You have to be careful with this one. Some states recognize what is known as the "shopkeeper's privilege," the right to demand proof of purchase (Oklahoma, near as I can tell, isn't one of them); moreover, private clubs (such as Sam's club) often make it a part of the membership agreement. As stated above, you absolutely can contract away your rights.

With Sam's you are correct. It's part of the agreement. Even in states with "shopkeeper's privilege" the only way they can stop you from leaving is if there is some kind of reasonable suspicion that you're shoplifting. No where are they allowed to demand a receipt to leave the store as a normal course.

Academy always wants a zip code. I always press cancel.

Fact is, companies want data about their customers. How many customers live within 3 miles? 10 miles?

information (data) = money

Zip I don't care about. It's not the least bit personally identifiable. They use it to say, "Hey, 30% of our customers come from this area... maybe we need a new store up there?" I'm all for that. But just not giving them personal info.
