I just picked up a LCR 9mm. Atwoods in Sapulpa had a special on them, price was too good to pass up. I need to get out and shoot it!

Careful I've had two, and both had issue's loading different brands of ammunition. Seems there is enough difference in case diameter, and chamber size to where I had issues loading the gun. This was all with practice ammo, there was no problem with high quality self defense ammunition, but due to the problems with practice ammunition I got rid of both. This was after I had sent both revolvers back to Ruger with a list of ammunition, and they tested and found the same problems I had. They still sent both guns back to me, then I got rid of them.

I had no seperation, my problem was cartridge diameter compared to the cylinder diameter. Most of what I was shooting was Federal, Remington, Aquila, and Tula 115gr ball. Some would fit, and some wouldn't. This was all prior to firing.

The UMC 115gr and Hornady Critical Defense 124gr I have on hand both fit.

Like I said, all I had problems with was my practice ammo, all defensive loads worked perfectly. Since you already checked on the loading of those two, I would go ahead and rock with what you got. Good luck an happy shooting!!!!!

It's all good, this is the only gun I've bought in the last 10 years that I didn't do any research on so you had me worried I bought a pc of crap. :hithead:

I have a LCR 9mm in my carry rotation. Have put 100 +/- rounds through it with no problems. I run S&B or CCI Blazer range ammo and Critical Duty self defense.

I love j frames. I have 2. I never carry them. The smallest gun I will carry is a Glock 19

But...but...a J Frame was made for CCW. How come you don't tote a jaybird, even occasionally? Low capacity? Accuracy issues?
