clearly you do not understand that it just a new argument against the raise.
Speak for yourself. I'm not opposed to a raise, just opposed to the waste that practically defines our school system. Let the extracurriculars be funded by user fees, and quit building multimillion-dollar stadium on taxpayer money.

I never said you were opposed to the raise, reading comprehension skills on your part. The funding for those facilities are separate from state funds. By the way, I have already gotten my timeout for the month. So, I am attempting to as polite as possible, please keep it friendly, I am.

You know, one of the suggestions I have been making to my district and to the state legislature is the need to supply teachers with trauma training and trauma kits. Remember in the military, we all carried a first aid bandage and had first aid/ emergency aid kits/personnel dispersed around a position. We are not allowed to give out a band-aid to a kid. Last week, we had to pass a state law so elementary school teachers can apply suntan lotion to a kid, without getting sued.

Crazy. Once i got a sunburn during a field trip to the pool because i threw my sunscreen into a giant dirt pile called The Hill on the walk there. Don't know why, but I did it anyway. Teacher said she couldn't give me hers. Lived in California at the time, though, so maybe different rules.... might have just chucked that one into The Pit like an idiot.

Things like this make me feel like we're too far down the well to ever get out. :(

You can’t give out band-aids? Surely this is an exaggeration?

nope, I should not give out anything related to medical treatment. I have Band-Aids, bacitracin, rubbing alcohol, Motrin, and Tylenol, if a kid asks, I just tell them they are in my top draw, but they did not get it from me.
Hell, we are not suppose to give a kid a piece of candy as a reward if they get a question correct on a review.

Tax issue.
If my taxes go up due to teacher pay increase, am I allowed to increase my rates to compensate or just do with less?

It may not so much be a question of IF as WHEN. What do you want our state government to do? Stop the fraud, waste and abuse or maybe, spend the money wisely? LOL! As if...
