In Oklahoma it does, and I think in Tx it does too.
In Oklahoma civil suits are not allowed after a justifiable shooting. My question is if Texas does.Unfortunately the laws usually do not stop bullet chasing lawyers from filing "wrongful death suits" on behalf of the surviving family which may or may not ever actually go to trial. Still creates a financial burden on the victim to hire legal defense to challenge the filing.
Nonsense. Matches routinely have stages where you are shooting small targets at long ranges with a heart rate at 140+ and the respiration rate of a panting dog because you are gassed from running 50 to 100 yards to get your mag. You know those same things that adrenaline does to you? My neighbor used to be the head trainer for OHP and he made his guys shoot a COF and then run 100 yards, then put 2 shotgun slugs on target at 100 yards in two shots. They did it over and over until they got the hits. Why would he do such a thing?Bunk. These matches do absolutely nothing to mimick the fight or flight adrenaline rush that is felt in a real life shooting situation. These matches simply induce shooter frustration. You have to put as much effort into your psychological preparations as you do into firearms training efforts.
In this Texas church shooting there's a reason Jack Wilson only fired one shot to take down the shooter. Maybe you'll figure it out, maybe not. Good luck.

Precisely. You train hard to become proficient. When the SHTF you can only fall back to the highest level you have been trained to.Nonsense. Granted the fear isn't there, but they do in fact mimic some of it and you can get a bit of an idea at what you are going to have to deal with if that time comes. One who has done a few matches and put in some work on the fundamentals is far, Far, FAR better grounded than the one that just got his SDA card and those 50 were the first shots he (or she) has fired in 25 years.
Like I said, nonsense...
If that statement was actually made by Shannon Watts that's got to be one of the most stupid statements I have ever heard concerning guns. That statement sounds like it was made by a MORON.
Apparently its not the first time she has made stupid statements.

Yep. I know there are a LOT of churches that don't have paid, licensed armed security. It doesn't matter what current or past certifications you have in your CV. If you're there to attend church services in an unpaid status, you are first and foremost a church-goer and citizen first responder.
God forbid I ever have to shoot someone, I don't want the narrative to be that I am former law enforcement, former Marine or former sport shooting champion. I am a citizen with an SDA permit and operating under that alone. Hopefully the aforementioned experience and training will aid in being as effective and safe as humanly possible, but I'm still just a guy going about my business and hope I never have to be in a situation like this one.
Prayers to the families in that Church, especially the victims and the responder who took care of business.
