FYI, SPP just had a WebEx press conference. Channel 6 carried it live on their app, and it had lots of good info. I don't know if it'll stay available on the app or if News6/News9 will have it on their Web site, but the SPP rep said they would be posting it after the video processing was done.

I'd guess that it'll show up here: https://spp.org/newsroom/press-releases/

I often feel this way about the government and the entertainment/media industry.
I tell myself it sure looks like a vast conspiracy...but naw, it's way more likely to be their ignorance and/or incompetence instead.
There's an old saw about attributing an action to ignorance rather than malice that I try to follow, although I was (mostly) joking there.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't put it past "them" to do that, but I think this is just a unique set of circumstances. It's just another example of how much bigger Mother Nature is than mankind, and how little there is we can actually do to stop her when she gets on a roll.

This is the email i got from OG&E @ 3:38 today
Be prepared

As of 10:15 a.m., Southwest Power Pool notified OG&E that temporary service interruptions are not required. As many customers work from home, maintain businesses and care for their families during this frigid weather, an unprecedented high demand for electricity and natural gas continues.

While the SPP has not yet indicated that short-term service interruptions will resume, OG&E customers should be prepared. Should the mandated interruptions resume, we will make every effort to communicate with you about your specific service interruption and estimated restoration. Given the fluidity of the situation, OG&E may not be able to communicate all interruptions prior to their start time. Because of this, we are encouraging you to prepare for the possibility of service interruptions as these extreme conditions continue.
