Anyone register a pistol brace?

Well FYI, there was letter after letter after letter from the ATF stating that shouldering a brace didn't constitute an SBR. So people took them at their word. Now who's really the bad guy here? Stupid gun owners? I tend to think not...

Look at it anyway you choose. We both know the gun community kept poking the bear until the bear got fed up with it. Those letters didn't specifically state that it was permissible to shoulder the brace. One as I recall said that it was possible that brace could be placed against the shoulder in certain circumstances. Not all the time as an SBR style weapon.

I think the more one spouts off here and admits one way or the other, is ammo for the feds that are keeping tabs on everyone in this forum. Talking about the rule and legalese and greivances and countermeasures is one thing. Lack of SA or sense is another.
Some things one should be self and situationally aware and be as innocuous as possible...unless you're rich AF and can afford to deal with the GOV especially in its current state.
But many are lacking any awareness of self or situation and are bringing heat on themselves because they love to tell on themselves, like they're doing something righteous instead of knowing when to STFU. I hope those folks get forgotten about, but, feds don't forget sh*t.

Tom Grieve post a video on YT. Apparently, around 250K registered their braces. He was sharing the information from The Reload post.

Technically, the ATF issued three letters. The first one stated that SB Tactical could make and sell arm braces because those items were not part of the ATF’s remit. After the popularity of arm braces took off, the ATF issued a second letter ordering SBT to cease and desist from making and selling arm braces because they turned pistols into SBR’s. The third letter, after two years of litigation, was to “clarify” the ATF’s position, because people “misunderstood” the agency’s stance regarding arm braces; as long as contact with the shoulder was “unintentional” or “accidental,” the ATF had no issue with arm braces. Ten years and some 4-40 million arm braces later, they’re once again labeling pistols with arm braces to be SBR’s...

What about Daniel Defense, Sig Sauer and every other Tom, Dick and Harry that sold braced pistols as complete guns? I assure you there was a helluva lot more than three approval letters put out. I had one from Sig Sauer myself for a time.

What about Daniel Defense, Sig Sauer and every other Tom, Dick and Harry that sold braced pistols as complete guns? I assure you there was a helluva lot more than three approval letters put out. I had one from Sig Sauer myself for a time.

SBT was the original manufacturer of arm braces. Their trials and tribulations at the hands of the ATF are what made the legend of government overreach and political puppeteering when it comes to arm braces.

You must not watch much YouTube or the news. Lets talk about the idiots running speed drills, room clearing drills, home defense drills with the brace shouldered the entire time. Just listened to Jared on Guns and Gadgets and he was reporting that just over 255,000 or (.06%) firearms had been registered as sbr's during the grace period. If the numbers of 10,000,000 to 40,000,000 are anywhere near correct this is one big STFU to the atf and our communist leadership.

agree! Tyrants have no place in this world. ATF has no place making rules or laws. Only congress.
