I'm sorry
Hey, I am to. But I got laid off from Compaq as a direct result of Sept 11th, so after a year I had to do something and that opened up. I told the wife it would be a cluster****, and it was. But with my degree and experience it was easy to get in. I stuck with it until we moved out here. My health was damaged by it, but I am much better now.

When I got back from Iraq, we had to go thru TSA in Maine. They tried pulling some of my fellow soldiers aside for patdowns, to which our Commander told them to "back off and go f*** themselves" Once their supervisor realized what was going on he let us all pass. Lol, that crazy TSA, what will they do next?*insert slapstick soundtrack*

All the flying I did back an forth from stateside to Kuwait/Iraq, I always got redflagged due to my boots, since they were my work boots, an comfortable, they always showed hot for nitrates, since I was always messing around with open explosives, same goes for my kit which was in my checked bag. I never left my kit behind, and always got written up by TSA fo all this. I'm glad I'll never have to fly again!!!

I have a friend who about lost his mind when his leatherman micro was taken away but his wife could get on with 10" aluminum knitting needles.

Good way around this is to keep a few heavy duty envelopes and a book of stamps in your carry on bag. You never know what you might forget. Step out of line address the envelope to yourself or a family member who can hang onto it until you get home. Stamp the crap out of it to make sure you cover the weight. (granted when flying commercial the last thing I do before leaving the house is double check that I have nothing that would be verteboten.)
Never had to use this method but when I worked for the airlines this is what I told a few people to do. One of which I saw on his return flight. He said it worked great.
