My experience with rats tends towards me believing they don't play at all.
Most of the rats I've seen were either moving rapidly in the direction away from me, or stuck in a trap.
Except for a memorable experience in which a rather large example was willing to fight me over temporary possession of a wrecked 1987 Plymouth Minivan.
Discretion being the better part of valor, and being armed with only a pen and a pocket knife, I walked away from that particular confrontation.
