After working from home for two weeks I went to the gun range today. I rationalized it as a quasi-health related trip. Sunshine and warmth for disinfecting me. Shooting for a while for my mental health. Lead exposure just in case they find this helps ward off viruses. Gun cleaning with Ballistol for its hand washing and inhalation benefits, plus the can says it is good for everything.

On a much more serious note, one of the fellows who usually shoots with us has a 22 year old daughter in law on a ventilator in a hospital with coronavirus. She also has a three month old son. My friend is in quarantine for another week or so. His family doesn't live here in town, but they did until they moved away last year.

He would appreciate prayers for his family.

When I got back to my truck, I open the driver's side door, got into my console and got my small bottle of hand sanitizer. I used a liberal amount of that to rub all over my hands and both outside door handles of the truck, then another large dollop to do my hands again, my phone, keyring/alarm remote interior doorhandle and center console latch as well as the bottle of hand sanitizer itself.

I think I sanitized everything I touched in or on my truck after touching the cart. But I used up about half my small bottle of sanitizer doing it. Dangit.

This is crazy.

That's probably been me for the last 5 years. I despise being sick, and I am a pretty bad germaphobe. I have had flu twice in last 12 years once ending up with pneumonia. That is for the birds. I can only imagine how bad covid is. I got no problem social distancing if you aint my wife or kids. Please stay 6 feet away would be good for me from now till death. I normally avoid stores as much as possible anyway.

The misses has been doing Wal-mart orders like she has for a couple years. When everything comes in the house I am ready with disposable cooking gloves and lysol wipes. I wipe everything down before it goes into our storage. Same with mail and all packages from Amazon, UPS or Fedex. Normally I just leave them all sit for a while then open box it goes strait into recycle bin outside then I wipe everything down. Yeah I am a little nutty but so far my whole crew is healthy. My dad is on Oxygen and high risk and my mom wouldn't make it through this either. Pretty much only time I go out is during week to get meds or stuff for them they can't get off Amazon or Wal-Mart grocery. My main goal is to keep my family virus free so I can keep helping my parents.

Wife has been out a couple times for supplies that you can't get on Wal-mart grocery. Thats it we been pretty well bunkered down for last 3 weeks otherwise. It hasn't been the end of the world.

if we're going to isolate this virus, we have to prevent intrastate travel imo

who knows how many of those folks had either mild symptoms or were asymptomatic. It's selfish.
That's almost impossible. We have to ship goods and supplies and you wouldn't believe how many hundreds of thousands if not millions of folks spend their winters in the south in RV's that are trying to get home to the northern states or Canada right now after being kicked out of the RV areas in the south after being sequestered for weeks during the current panic mode. There are few RV parks open right now with the COE, and National parks as well as state parks left open for someone travelling home to spend the night. Private parks, hotels and motels in some areas are required to shut down leaving travelers in a bind.
Canadians that spend their winters in the southern US have to mandatory sequester after crossing the border back into their country.

Haven’t been anywhere except Dr office in 16 days. Unless you have to go to work there is no reason to go out. I’ve had groceries and restaurant food delivered. To go out unnecessarily is selfish and and inconsiderate of others. We either have a shelter in place order or we don’t.

We finished our 14 days yesterday. We go out for drives, and do all of our cooking at home. I've been fishing. No crowds in the Kayak, just me and nature. We leave our Amazon boxes where they are left for three days because of the reports that the virus can remain on cardboard for that long. We know what's in them so it's not like a christmas present we have to open immediately. Big shop with lots of machine tools and projects to pass the time.
Living in the sticks with no neighbors isn't really like living in a crowded residential area. Lots of freedom to move about and not feel cooped up.

If you want anything delivered here...You go to town and get then leave it on the front porch, go round to the back door and come through the house. Out the front and pick up your package. Seems easier to just go get what you need and get your a$$ back home.

No doubt but I didn't say to go INSIDE the restaurant. Curb side pickup is an option with most places and comes with very little risk. I am not advocating NOT using these services, just wanted to let folks know that it costs restaurants extra money (that is pretty slim these days) to use 'em.
Plus using grubhub puts one more layer of hands on your food if the delivery person is asymptomatic.
