Praise the Lord!!! I was selected for a cow elk. Wichita mtn. Week of Dec 18. Probably use 30-06. Anyone have pointers for an old, 67 yr, brain injury victim. Like average shot distance? Pack out distance to road? Etc. have made 300 yrd 1 shot clean kills before injury. Any info appreciated. Thanks. Sorry for you guys and gals that didn’t get drawn. I’ve been putting in since the early 90’s.

Congratulations! Let the folks down there know if you have any limitations. The feds and the state guys are really very helpful and can give you the best advice. 30/06 is fine - good luck!
