A few weeks back I adverted a WTB 1911 frame - mostly struck out. I have a nice stash of Wilson parts and decided to tackle a frame build so ordered a Caspian SS government model frame and grip safety, it may end up being fugly but as long as it fuctions well I'll be content.

Just bought one off Armslist for $100. Rock Island Frame - stripped. The only part I did not have in my inventory was the plunger tube.
Going to try to do an old school GI build. Caspian make excellent frames.

Just wondering. I have a Para Ordanance Kit from the 80's with a nice Essex slide I was going to use for my GI build. If I could find another slide I would keep the Para Kit gun complete. I am more interested in the GI build than I am the Para Kit. Thanks though....but I am going to stick to 45 caliber. Ebay has some nice Rock Island slides for a very reasonable price. Might go that route.
