Wow I have cattle trails on my property that are in better shape
Cold mix is crap Mac and it all (cold or hot ) must be tamped in no more than a 4" lift. Less of cold.Cold mix actually works pretty well for patches when used properly, but it has to be tamped in from the bottom up with something heavy (like a post driver or sledge hammer).
Most folks won't put out the effort, so they just add extra on top and hope traffic will tamp it down. But it don't work that way, so it remains loose and much of it gets squished out.
You think that is bad, they tore up a quarter mile of private road with a grader and went down it with a tree shredder on a hydraulic arm down it massacuring trees and making a huge mess of things. Our county workers have got it figured out. Job security!!! This has been “fixed” for close to a week now.View attachment 204242
Those signs are telling you how much rubble will be at the bottom if you try to cross it...Hey hey now, the bridge weights are suggestions.
