My younger brother moved to the east side of the big island about 6 weeks ago from Tulsa.
He said he has blue skies there.
Hope it stays that way for him!

I'm guessing it's like flood insurance in flood-prone areas... not available. :/Wonder what insurance against lava and quakes is like there?
Exactly, WHY EVER buy a house if there has EVER been a flood there. Just because it doesn't happen often doesn't mean it will never happen again.Kind of like riverfront property or rebuilding in Moore.
Or underwritten by the taxpayer.I'm guessing it's like flood insurance in flood-prone areas... not available. :/
Nope. Plenty to worry about with out thinkin bout the next storm of the century to flood my home ( I live on high ground)Do NONE of you guys bet the ponies??

The South end of Lake Powell in Utah is like that. We drove for 30 + miles with no trees, no grass, no sand, no dirt.....nothing but old lava flows. It was amazing how desolate that area is, yet beautiful. The entire area where the lava has cooled and hardened is a spooky place, one can walk literally for miles on the lava and get lost.
