Thankfully some of you get it, and some of you continue to drink the Koolaid of your corporate masters...

What you fail to grasp is that those "corporate masters" have Satanic lawyers too and common sense tort reform should apply to them too, but as long as lawyers keep refusing to even seriously discuss reform the whole rotten system stays in place so that the only people coming out ahead are business and lawyers.

Most people do not know that many suits are settled out of court and many times even if the company is in the right, it is cheaper to settle then pay the expense of legal cost and greedy lawyers, and a good part of the time the lawyers still walk off with 25 to 50% or more. The people also do not seem to grasp that they are the ones who end up paying for it because the business or insurance company just passes it on to them in one form or another.

How would you implement tort reform such that it discouraged frivolous suits without scaring off legitimate plaintiffs?

I watched it and felt horrible for that girl from haliburton getting raped and basically held hostage in a storage container. Been all this time and she finally gets to go to court, hope something good comes to her. Somehow after the haliburton employees takes custody of her rape kit, parts of it go missing??? Gotta love big oil companies...

I was fortunate while in Iraq not to be working for KBR. They treated their employee's like trash on the bottom of their boots. We had several transfer over to us, an some of the horror stories told. Well you would have sworn they worked at Dachau. Their bosses told them almost everyday, thats its OK to quit, as there was always someone to replace them. They worked 7 days a week, and if during that time if work wasn't finished by the end of the day, they got docked pay for unfinished work. More than five days of this they were sent home. Yeah we had it good, only had to travel through bad guy area's with no military support to get to our work site off the FOB, security was hamstrung as to weapons they could have, trust me a 249SAW will not stop a carbomb!!!! We did get one day off a week for R&R. You could stay in your hotch, and sleep or take an unpaid convoy to FOB Speicher to go to the PX, or et junk food i.e. Subway, Burger King, Taco Bell. Security always made the run, an you could provide them with a list of things you'd like, but didn't have to pay till they returned, sometimes they didn't come back whole.
