Brokeback Moutain
The Searchers is at the top of my list, followed by Wales, both of which have already been mentioned. No one has mentioned The War Wagon, though. Wayne and Douglas are great in that one.
High Noon was a really good western, if you like that fear vs. courage, one man alone when everyone else abandons him, kind of movie theme.

I don't know if you are joking, but I really did quite enjoy Brokeback Mountain, very powerful story, wonderful acting, and it prompts the viewer to open their minds and see people. Not just "queer cowboys". The final moments of the film are heart wrenching.
Isn't there a big gay rodeo circuit in Oklahoma? Brokeback Mountain was a sad movie. Those two should have just got together, instead the messed up lots of lives with their lies.
Seems I heard of that circuit, JB. Wasn't it called "Queers in Tears on Steers" or something like that?
