Yea that one threw me off a little bit too.

Thanks for the offer, bettingpython. I think I have boiled it down to an RIA tactical or the Springer. Taurus doesn't enter as a candidate due to bad experiences in the past. I am sure their PT1911 is a good competitior though.

I like the idea of having a forged frame and slide but if I like the RIA Tactical this weekend, I may just take it home. It doens't hurt that their are so many great 1911 gunsmiths around OK. I am sure if I need some trigger work or front checkering done I won't have to go to far to find help.

I dont know about fitting the mods. because, quite frankly, the RIA Tactical already had everything I wanted........well worth the money for the upgrade from the gi to the tactical. (about $50 I think) I've been really happy with mine....after the first 200 rds. it's been flawless......and yes, I do own higher end 1911's.
