Yep.......
It's like a grand ol' Paradox Party in here...lol. A great deal of people making minimum wage *also* receive govt. assistance. Raising the minimum to $15/hour would actually help/force most people get *off* govt. assistance. Do you know how much of your tax dollars go to support those making minimum wage at Wal-mart and similar places? If a particular business can't survive while paying a $15/hour minimum, then maybe they shouldn't be in the business if letting the govt. subsidize their employees wages.
This is correct. 80% of people on welfare already have jobs. Pretty good indicator that jobs are not paying people enough.
But don't let facts get in the way of their preconceived, conservative ideologies.

The jobs in question are low-level ones, which require no skills, education, special training, or experience to do. The work simply isn't worth as much as what these people want. This is correct. 80% of people on welfare already have jobs. Pretty good indicator that jobs are not paying people enough.

So, you would rather the govt. subsidize income for those working minimum wage jobs?...and somehow raising the minimum wage to a point where people don't need govt. assistance won't work either? You can't have it both ways...if you want droves of people off govt. assistance the minimum wage will have to go up substantially.

And what if raising the minimum wage doesn't help either. The article in the OP shows evidence that it may not. It shows that at least some people are still getting assistance and just working fewer hours.
How is that better?
