Son sent me a picture of about 80 he had found. Went to my honey hole and looks like someone beat me there. They weren't too sharp eyed becasue I found a dozen on the other side of the trees.
I had a spot like that. There was an asperagus farm south of Tonkawa many years ago. The birds ate the seeds, and pooped them while sitting on fences. One could drive the country roads around there in the spring and fill up bags.
I picked the first spear this afternoon, and ate it raw. I love that stuff.
