...wife and I walk at least 3 to 3 1/2 miles most days, depending on whether we walk in the mall or outdoors somewhere. (We like outdoors better.) I have a phone app that allows one to set their stride length, thus supposedly making it more accurate than just steps alone. 3 1/2 miles works out to be around 8000 steps or so.
