Mid fifties, educated guess, Dong opened his first brick & mortar store on Admiral Place between College & Gary. The store was right next to our neighborhood. Dong & my dad worked at American Airlines back then.
Some peeps with good memories here. I was in the old Mashburn's a couple of times when it was on Penn. SW Shooters reminded me of Outdoor America when Fred was still alive. The only difference was the color of the outdoor carpet.
Mine too, possible our dads knew each other.
Back in those days we had people coming in from out of state to shop for firearms because between the two the selection was unbeatable.
Hard to believe where we are in comparison to where we were.
