Have quite a bit of 9mm ammo and would like to find a rifle of some sort to plink with. Not sure what's out there. Any ideas?

Marlin Camp-9s are fun little 9mm carbines. I have had both a Camp-9 and a 9mm AR and found the Marlin more reliable and far less costly.
Those are the only two 9mm carbines with which I have direct experience.

Had a HiPoint once, wasn't impressed.

I have a Mech-Tech upper for for a Glock 17, kind of clunky, but a gas to shoot and all of my g17 mags work in it.

Beretta CX-4 Storm. Buddy has one and it's both reliable and fun to shoot.

+1 on the CX4 Storm. I bought one.....then sold it, then bought another. If you can, buy the 92fs version so you can use the 30 round extended mags. The storm is a very accurate carbine. I put a vortex strikefire red dot with a cantilever mount on mine (which I recommend). Otherwise the red dot tends to interfere with the charging handle if it sits too low. I also have a Sig MPX SBR, which I think is a perfect CQB weapon. The Storm costs about half of what the MPX does. The only problem with the storm is that beretta is not selling them in the states anymore, so they're getting harder to find.
