Found this little critter down south of Valliant today, while on a run to the mill's water receiving basin.

It was barely a foot long, but obviously very well fed. Ornery little cuss too!

No, guns are not allowed in company vehicles. We ran over it, I thought it had a broken neck from the way it was acting. After we took pictures and got back in the truck it actually crawled off. Surprised the heck out of me.

Actually a juvenile cottonmouth. Copperheads and cottonmouths are very similar when young. As cottonmouths get older they lose most of the chevron pattern.

I remember seeing one of those yeeeeears ago. Never knew what it was. Us kids were coming back from the lake and it was in the middle of the road. We were smart enough to give it plenty of room and left it alone
