If its in excellent condition $150.00 is a fair price. You don't see a lot of the m44s anymore well, not nearly as much as 91/30s. Unless you have a FFL or a C&R and order in higher quanity you're not gonna get one for $60.

As far as counterbored goes I wouldn't want one. Counter boring was done to improve accuracy of a rifle that has already had the **** shot out of it.

Actually, counterboring was done to repair a damaged crown. That damage was usually done by cleaning with a steel cleaning rod from the muzzle end.

Any rifle with a decent bore, but a bad crown, will shoot better after it is counterbored.

M44's are sometimes a little iffy anyway, especially with that bayonet hanging out there. Some claim they shoot differently with the bayonet extended.

By the way, sub 3" @ 100 yds would be pretty good for an M44.
