I use strong hand (right) for holding my weapon, eating, shaking hands, etc. so I may reserve my weak hand (left) for wiping. In most cultures, you don't use the same hand for all these tasks.

If you "clean" with your weak hand and do everything else with your strong hand, why even bother washing them when you're done?
To keep your magazine changes sanitary.
Of course, the "strong and weak" terms aren't really what is relevant. You eat with right and clean with left, regardless of which hand is strong and weak. That way everyone knows you aren't cross-contaminating. If you are a lefty, you gotta adapt
