I am getting ready to buy a Mac. I cannot stand Windows. You can buy a brand new computer and within a year it is slower than all get out. And they are so easy to infect with viruses and spyware. They are just a waste of money. I am not gonna keep pouring money into a money pit computer anymore. It's the same with the iPhone. It runs so well because both the hardware and software are made by the same company. This ain't the case with Windows. I have also never really been a fan of the Windows system anyway. It's ok but that's about it.

Took about 2 hrs.

I've tried repeatedly since Wednesday afternoon, and still have not been able to complete the download. It keeps 'failing.' It's probably my own ignorance ... I am admittedly not very tech savvy at all. But, I'm getting tired of messing with it. I don't like 8.1, but I suppose I can live with it.

Finally made the switch to Windows 10. So far, I like it better than 8.1 because it doesn't have that silly tool bar on the side that keeps popping up when trying to scroll, and the scroll bar now stays in place vs having to dance around with the mouse to get it back up every time you pause to read something.

It fixed an issue with Adobe that kept throwing up warnings on links. Don't get those any more.

Still can't watch any video's. The audio portion is really choppy, so I just watch them on my phone.
That voice command thing is going away quickly as soon as I figure out how. It reacts to the TV and keeps asking me what I want. Irritating.

Now I can't right click and copy the properties to post a link on OSA. What's the trick?

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2949...indows-10s-info-hungry-digital-assistant.html if you want to disable cortana (This is for you DennisShoddy)

If you want to watch movies and have found it doesn't work right I suggest http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm get the version that includes Media Player Classic so that would be the "Standard" version or higher.

For those that have problems with the auto download drop me a line and I have a flash drive that will allow you to install or you can make your own drive or disc by going here. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

I can also burn off a disc and mail it out if you are too far from Guthrie to make a trip to me or meet somewhere reasonable. Pay for the disc and the postage and I will be happy. Did I mention I am a computer geek and can build, fix, repair, etc. I just got done setting up a little 1U FreeNAS remotely, four 4TB drives in a RaidZ2 so any two drives can fail and no data is lost. Plex for home media along with windows file sharing.

I gave up trying. I have Avast, and was told that Windows 10 is not compatible with Avast and that may be why it kept failing.

I listened to a radio program today about Windows 10. It said that if you have antivirus protection installed, to UN install it before getting Windows 10. Remember to get the key first so it can be installed after the download.

Great info.

Whats the trick to copy a link from another website and post it to OSA.

Used to be right click, copy, and paste to OSA. Don't have that right click feature with 10 now.

Control-C to copy, Control-V to paste

And for those times when you just can't find it Control-F

Dang, back to the old DOS commands?

WTF was wrong with right click, copy and paste to get a link?

Edit: just tried the way you said. No Go.

I know the history of the school way before he got here. It isn't near at the level it was at before he got in office. Educationally or sports

My PC hasn't had a dime spent on it in 2+ years and most of the hardware is 4-6 years old, and my system runs like a champ. 99.9999999% of issues people have with Windows is their own doing. That's not an attack, it's just fact. I'm not saying Windows doesn't have issues, but most of them are extremely simple to fix. I don't even run an antivirus on my systems, and I don't have virus problems. Ever. My Android phones run just peachy as well. If for some reason I need to restart it, it's restarted and running faster than my previous iphones would even shut down. It's all about how you use the devices themselves.
