If someone ever tells you to visit Ponca City for the steakhouse, you've been trolled. I tried both of them up there, and they were pretty terrible. Followed up a weekend there with Enrique's mexican/cuban foodery out by the city airport... it was pretty bad also. The real jewel in that town was a little burger shop on 4th street downtown called Lot-O-Burger. It was the bomb

If you ever find yourself in Lawton, treat yourself to Hong Kong Buffet. Any place I can sit down and eat a dozen types of chicken, some mongolian beef, and unlimited crab and frog legs... I'm sold.

Casa Bonita in Tulsa four or five years ago. It had reopened under new management. Worst kind of any food anywhere, i could not eat it and no-one else at our table could either. Needless to say it didn't stay open very long.
I loved the original one when it was open, food was great and great atmosphere and service.

Hensley's In Yukon served my wife a roasted slab of chicken fat with a tiny bit of meat attached. I pointed it out to the manager; he took it off the bill and we left; never to darken their door again. It was gross.

I don't know if they are even still open but there was a place in OKC up by Baptist Hospital called Macaroni Grill...I ordered some kind of pastas alfredo something or other and it came out all burnt up and really black and crispy on top. When I told the waiter I didn't want it and to get a manager, the manager brought me an extra little bowl of sauce to cover it up with. That didn't fly well; I refused to eat or pay, walked out, spoke rather harshly about the joint, wrote a letter the corporate HQ and in return they sent me a $10 gift certificate to the place. I gave it to a co-worker I don't like.

This has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read.

Why would you eat at a chain like that if youre on the coast?

You sound like youre all high and mighty with your first part.. then confess to that? :rotflmao:

I was on a business trip; my boss--whom I later successfully had prosecuted, though for different reasons--insisted upon the place.

As for myself, give me Timbuktu in Baltimore. Best damned crab cakes known to mankind.

Red Lobster? Really? Have you ever even seen an ocean? Even in pictures?

I've never had a decent meal at Red Lobster, and I've even eaten there within sight of the coast. Worst seafood ever.

Last I checked OKC is not on the ocean. I was comparing seafood there to seafood you would get at Johnny Carinos, an Italian restaurant. Not comparing it to what you can get on the coast. I've had lots of good meals at Red Lobster. I'm saying if I'm going to go out for seafood, I'm not going to pick an Italian restaurant, I've never had a decent meal at Cattlemans and others think their steaks are great. Does that make me right and others wrong? People's taste in food differs.

So that's why she's been trying to get me to go to that place. Thanks a ton, Joel.
