If they can just lie to the cops to get me arrested then they could just say I was shooting recklessly when one of the other people across the woods shoots. They can lie and say it’s me. If you knew these people you would know why they call. They are anti gun liberals.

The the LEOs get a call. CHECK.
They confirm you're shooting. CHECK.
The way it works these days is: "That's what the courts are for".

You'll get arrested and go to court where you'll probably win.

Another example is Green Country Range in NE OK. They were out in the country. Neighbors made up a bunch of BS about how their horses were always scared, bullets flying over their houses, etc. It was all complete and utter BS, but they got the county commissioners to rezone the area and that range is no more.

You can stand on principals all day long. Good luck.

I remember dennishoddy saying his neighbor would call the cops on him even though he wasn’t doing what she said. They saw she was lying is what I remember and stopped coming. But it’s been a while since I read that. Just because they get a Call for someone shooting does NOT give them authority to arrest someone. They have to have probable cause. Me safely shooting is not probable cause. They always check where I am shooting and all three deputies said I was being safe and doing it the right way. Only the last guy mentioned arresting me. But this guy was full of it. He was doing his best to scare me. If there was cause to arrest me the first two deputies would have said so. They said the exact opposite. And they have records of who came to my house and when.

That’s correct. When I shoot at my berm, I’m shooting 180 degrees away from my only neighbors home and my home is between us. I would have to turn around, shoot through my house to hit hers. She hasn’t called Leo in a long time, finally seeing the futility of doing so I’m thinking.
There is a state statute on noise levels relating to gunfire that could potentially be an issue but if they aren’t bringing that up, I’d carry on.

I submitted a question to our sheriff and he had his Lieutenant call me about it. I told him about the situation out here with the neighbors calling for me shooting and mentioned the last deputy and what he said about the 220 feet from a dwelling and how he could arrest me for breaking that “state law”. The LT. said he looked and could not find a single statute prohibiting me or anyone else from shooting in the country. He said he had never even heard of something like that and don’t know why the deputy told me that. This guy was very nice. He came out yesterday afternoon to look at my property and my backstop. He told me I am perfectly fine shooting here. He said I am actually doing it much safer than most do. We talked about guns and stuff and then he gave me his card and said if i need anything to give him a call. He took a picture of my backstop before he left so he could show that he checked my setup to make sure I was being safe. He said if they get called again to just tell the deputies to call him and that he gave me permission to shoot. Then I said “ I hope it ain’t the last deputy” and he said, “ he resigned “. Makes me wonder if the guy got canned. Either way it don’t hurt my feeling any. He also told me they get calls like this all the time and have for years and they always tell the people there ain’t anything they can do unless the person is being unsafe. I am glad I submitted that question.

If I were a parent and someone across from me were shooting. I would look for a way to stop you. Without knowing where kid was and when you would shoot, I would be concerned.

I would not know if you were being safe or an idiot?

Do you own those woods? Who is to control who walks in these woods while you are shooting? Is this owner ok with the use of their land? Can kids play in said woods?

If I read this correctly, the woods are 250 yds deer. A bullet can travel through the woods. The fence can deflect bullets.

The gun club I am in with has 20-40feet high burms. There are no trees to bounce the bullets off of. You have said trees. In my opinion, your actions hurt us gun owners, shooters.
