That reminds me of Panchos Mexican Buffet. They were scattered around Texas when I was a kid I thought they were great. Found one in Tulsa about 12yrs ago and it was horrible. I'm pretty sure it shut down 8 or 9yrs back.

Being a former Texas boy, we ate at a Dallas location and it was good, 30+ years ago, now it's as you said.. The wife and I where in Tulsa and ate at a Mexican place that was said to be good and I'll say them folks have screwed up taste buds, it was yuck..

There was a Pancho's at 240 and Penn (OKC) for nearly my entire life. It closed maybe 2-3 years ago and is now a Cajun King Buffet

Well, that sucks. Casa Bonita was a big part of my youth. Other places we went (that are no longer open) were Shotgun Sams pizza and Franks Country Inn.
I was just thinking aboit shot gun sams the other dayz. That was always a treat. Franks had great home cookin best I can recall from my childhood.

Mi Pi pizza, Eddys steakhouse, Stampedes, Molly Murphys, and Roy Rogers!
I will never, ever forget Eddy's. I was there on his last weekend, a Saturday night. He came by every table and said he was glad we came when we did, because he was shutting his doors on Monday. Man I still dream about the spare rib and tabouli sampler plate..

Ahh memories. A&W used to be good too. Papa, mamma, teen and baby burgers.

There was a place called Chances Are west of Wedgwood Amusement on NW HWY. It had the biggest hamburgers I have ever seen. They filled up the plate.

I also really loved the flavor of the sauce and hickory burgers at the Charcoal Oven

Speaking of big hamburgers, I was in Tooelle, UT a month ago. We went to eat at Dairy Delight, a local dive that’d been around since the 1970s, and they had hamburgers in different sizes. I got the half pounder, and it was HUGE with a bun the same size. I didn’t even know you could get hamburger buns that big! The burger was excellent, too.

... and they offered a one-pound burger. Didn’t see what that looked like, though.
