What seems to be defining the shove as "more than needed" is the fact that the old man fell down.
If he hadn't fallen then it wouldn't have been a problem, the officer couldn't tell that.

I do think the officer surely should responded more when the guy hit his head and didn't move.

"Can't you admit they shouldn't do that ?" Cherry pick out an incident and try and turn it in to the narrative. What a joke. And don't give me that "I've been fighting terrorism for 30 years" baloney. I'm a Navy veteran and have spent most of my life in support of our military and police.

This is likely playing off your statement in a way you did not intended it, but I hope that alongside supporting the military and police, that includes supporting the American People as well. At the end of the day the M&P are supposed to exist to serve and protect rather than be distinct from the American People.

It might have been more than needed but you really don't know what else was going on so you don't really know.

And neither will you. But I've never met a 75 year old getting in my face that required a shove to the ground. Since we're in the realm of "we will never know and can apparently therefore make assumptions" I would hazard a guess that the hand waving was accompanied by him likely saying something along the lines of "what is all this crap needed that you have" like my mom did when she found a pack of smokes on my in Jr. High.

There's also an argument for reasonable force scaled to the person. But your point about the response when he hit the ground is eerily similar to the even that kicked this whole shebang off.... if the officer had assessed the situation and gotten up, or even responded to the lack of George Floyd's pulse, do you think we'd be here? So in some ways it's a great illustration.

Yes, and protect means put a stop to illegal and terroristic looting and killing of those same citizens. Those people are American citizens that should be protected. Criminals give up their right to that protection and service while looting, rioting, destroying and killing real citizens.

30 years fighting terrorism … yea, right....

I think you are a lost cause so have fun loping your mule now.

In my opinion, it’s an uncoordinated effort to change the administration. I stay out of metropolitan areas and maintain my sense of awareness. In Oklahoma, the instigators are mostly white youth. It’s a trend and all the more troubling because it is being fueled by CNN, probably for two reasons: to up their ratings and further inflame the electorate into a decisive political outcome in November. It’s the way the pendulum swings.

Hey Rex Exelon, 30 year terrorist fighter...

You might want to read this and watch the video. Maybe it will help further your education on the very things you are questioning.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/minneapolis-protest-riot-loot-ami-horowitz-video

Your reading comprehension seems to not be a particularly defining trait --- that's the second time in this thread you've indicated me as claiming to be a "30 year terrorist fighter" when it was another user who made that comment. Perhaps it might be worth readings people's posts rather than just trying to reply in a way that pushes your viewpoint.

My mistake, I apologize and I have corrected my post.

It's hard to keep all of you libs straight in my mind. You probably could read the post to though and it might help you too.

JD8 thank you for the correction.
