Anyone here have one of these? I saw one at Lowe's this past weekend and was fairly impressed. Been considering the Traeger but after seeing the Pit Boss, I don't really think I can justify it. I know Traegers are nice but it's nearly double what the Pit Boss is and the Pit Boss has more cooking area too. It also comes with shelves and hooks to hang stuff on.

Thoughts?

Almost bought a pit boss two years-ish ago. They seem like the better value overall. A lot of the Traeger price is their advertising. Hard to sponsor some of the countries biggest events and personalities in a decent margin. Bought a pit barrel instead. Love it.

That's what I'm finding out... The Pit Boss even comes with a 5 year warranty now. They seem very well made. I'm considering Sportsman 1000.

I have seen a few you tube videos on them and I’m also thinking about buying one. They look very simple to use, that’s what I’m all about

The Lowes models are exclusives. They are pro versions of the other versions without the pro price. I have the 820 and it's plenty for what I do. Take the top rack out and can fit huge turkeys in it too. Bought it earlier this year and wondered why I waited so long to buy one. Haven't had any issues with it yet and I use it about every weekend, sometimes several times a weekend.

That's what I wanted to hear! I have a little smoker now that resembles a mini-fridge and it's helped me realize that I love smoking and I really could use a nicer setup.

The Treager's WiFi connectivity seems pretty cool but I don't really need that - especially for the price they're demanding. What I'm really interested in now is setting the temperature and not having to babysit it as it just has a dial and the temps need to be monitored and the dial adjusted... This can be a bit of a pain when you must open the door and check on or move or place more meat. Also, having it elevated like a regular grill will be a welcomed feature as well.

Simple, easy to use and my wife loves using it. I smoke meats on it and she cooks pizza and the likes with it. Not as fancy or accessory friendly as the other guys though. Temp does vary so if accuracy is your thing you may need to mod this one.

Had one since June, had a bunch of Academy gift cards and with First Responder/Military discount I didn't pay much for it. As grill it's fantastic, zero complaints. As a smoker, it doesn't compare to a stick burner whatsoever imo. It's been pretty convenient to smoke in my stick burner for the first half of the time and finish it off in the Pit Boss though.
