Guys, I couldn't make this **** up if I tried ... It took me literally 5-6 hours to go from "I think I have a sty" to looking like I've gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson ...

And ... Oh lookie ... This is a rare condition, usually seen in kids under 5 ... 🤦🤦🤦

I swear I'm willing my body to science with a warning tattooed on my forehead "Biohazard danger ... And stay away from trees ..."

Sheesh ... 🤦🤦🤦🤦

So my question is ... Anyone around here familiar with this modern version of Mongolian Bodyrot?? I went to Urgent Care and they shot my ass full of antibiotics and gave me a couple of Rxs for eye drops (Ofloxacin) and oral antibiotics (Cephalexin) antibiotics but OMG 😲 😲 I cannot believe how fast I have gone from being able to see normally to my eye being swollen completely shut and looking like someone has punched me ...

Not really asking for medical advice -- just reminding you all to keep your hands away from your face. That damned grocery store (as well as my little backyard barnyard) is a petri dish of heaven knows what. Y'all be careful ...

Infection in or near the eye is no laughing matter. I feel for you, as mentioned the store I imagine is a biohazard galore. Especially money being one of the nastiest things out there, no telling where it has been.
I know it's not funny but your stay away from trees comment, I'm sorry had me chuckling.🤣

Prayers for a speedy recovery. Not familiar with your particular condition but I did have a family friend who contracted the flesh eating bacteria and saw how quickly that went from a rash to really bad. Just today I saw a little nose-picket in the cart going to town in his nostril and then wiping it all over the handle of the buggy. Being in sales my whole life I’ve shaken thousands of thousands of hands and developed the habit of never touching my face without washing my hands. My wife on the other hand is horrible about that. If it’s okay I’ll share your story and hopefully get her to start being more careful.

I don’t recall the specific variant, but I had cellulitis in my leg a few years ago. I busted the fire out of my shin getting out of the cab of a tractor; after a couple of days my shin was black and blue and I couldn’t even sit still without swearing like a sailor, so I got my mom to come pick me up and take me to my doctor (there was no way in hell I could’ve driven myself by that time). He looked at it and said it was probably just a bad bruise, but he recommended that I go over to Norman Regional’s ER where they had the equipment to make sure it wasn’t a blood clot.

They did an ultrasound and some testing, and it turned out that it was just a bad bruise and an infection. This very pleasant, nice sounding, yet undeniably evil woman in a nursing outfit shot me in the butt cheek with what felt like a turkey basting needle, then made me roll over so she could shoot me in the other butt cheek with that same evil needle. Then she gave me a prescription for a Z-pack (IIRC) and sent me home.

About a week later, I was good as new. Well, more or less.

I hope it works out as well for you, less the evil woman with the giant needle.

Oh please do! That's mostly why I shared here. I'm not easily shaken by medical ****. In fact, I was laughing and cracking jokes with the ER personnel after my tree adventure, and the ambulance guys said they would KILL to have all their transports be as understanding as I was. But this has gotten my attention. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't taking it VERY seriously.

"If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all..."

Dang, Gurl... What did you do to piss Karma off so bad?

I wish I knew! Lol She's been kinda rough on me the last few years -- oh who am I kidding -- I'm a walking trainwreck! Haha! I tell you who I feel bad for -- Grumpy that's who! Bless his heart! I'm pretty sure he's rethought whole "thru sickness and in health" thing SEVERAL times over the years. 😉
