Getting one tagged may be an adventure in itself. Don't know what the procedure would be. I would be concerned about availability of getting parts or repairs.

They won't certify them for public roads due to emissions standards. At one point they weren't even going to give them to local and state agencies for the same reason. They were going to crush them until some lawmakers said that was stupid.

These would be worth thousands more in tax renumeration if they were allowed to be tagged. Just more evidence that the federal government doesn't give a damn about taxpayers. We're just turnips from which to extract more blood. :(

I'm pretty sure you can get one tagged at least here in Oklahoma. I can see how they are being sold as "offroad only" to limit liability on the seller's end. I sold my civilian H1 in October and I was looking at replacing it with one of these (maybe). Parts are generally not an issue because these vehicles are still being produced and refurbished for numerous countries. AM General even offers free shipping including anything which ships freight like brake lines and tops. Ebay is also a great source for humvee parts. The cheapest one sold today at about $21,500 and the highest went for $41,000.
