Redwing are very good quality. Can't go wrong with either.

I'm needing new work boots and plan on getting some this weekend.

Looking mainly at danners and red wings but open to suggestions (work in natural gas industry and around some chemicals)

i got a pair of danners about 2 months ago with my boot allowance at work. I went to Gelco at the stockyards. Mine are black and are basically a pair of high top tennis shoes. But they are actually boots. And they are 100% waterproof. Best I have worn so far. And I put over 5-12 miles a day walking in them. Still doing great. They are called the danner melee. They are made form gortex and leather. Says they are made for cqb and fast roping. Don't know how much of that you plan on doing. Lol. Nevertheless a great and comfortable boot. They were a little over $130. But they would be worth the money. I work for ONG so I have sampled many types of boots. They also have a slip resistant sole with good grip.
