I think I might know how to fix your bean problems...:D

HAHAHA! I know how to as well, but the significant other half, has a rule. They die, you die. lol
They are pretty much yard pets. They roost in trees about 50 yards east of the house. When in the yard, they don't even look up when we walk outside when they are 20 yds away.

Need to prep my raised garden bed for winter. Wife got the last of the tomatoes and peppers off today.
Any suggestion?
Should I cover it? Anything I should add to the soil?

Only if you need to adjust the PH.
The addition of remediation products takes awhile to produce results.
Some mulch worked into the soil will allow it to break down before spring planting.

get a soil sample. You can contact OSU or your local COOP to get a bag. Your mix from the Amish may not be agreeable with your soil.
It may be agreeable with other soils.
A soil test is the only way to know.
