How do you carry knife/extra mag

Today I saw a guy wearing a leather double mag pouch with the one flap cut off. this held his knife the other had the flap and had what I looked like a 1911 mag in it.
Any requirement the extra mag be concealed? I could not find any reference to extra mag carry.

I haven't seen anything in the SDA regs that say you have to conceal an extra mag, but it's kind of a sure give away that you are carrying. Then you will be scrutinized much harder and if someone can locate the gun, you can be reported and potentially lose your license. Just not a good idea in my book.

When I carry my G23 I don't carry an extra, I may when I buy a new belt and holster. When I carry my Ruger LCP I carry the extra in my pocket.
