Google needs to do the same; they have the banner blacked out but imagine what kind of attention 24 hours without being able to Google would bring. The internet is a powerful force.

How does it ruin it? I believe that it to be symbolic that, with sufficient effort and tools available, SOPA/PROTECT-IP can be bypassed.

I agree on both points.

What exactly are the arguements FOR doing this anyway?? Do they have ANY points which are valid or need to be considered in some other light? I just can't even begin to understand and I WILL be calling some Congressional offices tomorrow.
