Any of you ever had it? How was it treated? How long ago and how are you doing now? I was diagnosed a couple of months ago and am waiting for my insurance to approve a specialist. My GP says probably surgery. I'm on my feet almost constantly during the day and this is miserable to say the least.

I have not been diagnosed, but I have the symptoms. My right big toe is slightly numb, feels like it is asleep. Doesn't hurt unless I stretch my leg and foot out and bend the toe down. When I do that, it is like my foot is on fire. It also happens if I sit on my foot with my knee bent.... certain "marital" situations require that. It can really take you out of it. I have found a spot on my foot where I can touch the tendon and the fire shoots out. It is either MN or I tore it and it hasn't healed. With the numb feeling, I really think it is MN. Do you have similar pains?

I have began to have some of the same symptoms. Figured it was just from being on my feet 12+ hrs a day and getting old. Have a Dr. appt. coming up, will discuss it with him, ask about the MN. Good thread.

I have one. I went to a podiatrist, and after explaining it and the options for treatment, he made an insert for my shoe that lifts my foot just behind the point of the neuroma. It works great, but he did say that probably surgery to sever that nerve will be necessary in the future. As you know, sometimes the pain is so intense the idea of surgery isn't out of the question. I found some inserts made by New Balance on Amazon recently. I got a pair, and they were a little uncomfortable at first, but seem to be working so far. Might be worth trying for you. Cost was only about $20.

I've tried all manner of shoe inserts (including custom made inserts) with no significant improvement. I have had numb toes and burning sensations most of my life, but for the last few months I feel like I'm walking with a jagged rock between the 3rd and 4th toes of my left foot. By the end of the day I can barely walk and spend the rest of my evening in my recliner.

I have one in my left foot.
I switched to new balance shoes and got an insert from my podiatrist.
That helped but it hasn't solved the problem.

I just sent an email to my dr's office last night asking for an appointment asap to set up surgery and be done with it.
What I've read about some people having problems with the surgery scared me enough that I waited an extra year until I just think I need to get this done.

I'll let you know how it goes, mind you I am not sure how long it will take to book the surgery and get insurance approval for the procedure.

Please let us know. It seems to be fairly common. Mine is the same location as your's.

Belthos, Did you have the surgery? What are your thoughts now?
