Possibly a Grey Catbird? They are first cousins to Mockingbirds. Normally a bit darker in color than yours, but this photo:

Naw! It's a Mockingbird. I've seen it up close. He's even got the Normandy Invasion chevrons; just muted. And, he hangs with the other Mockingbirds.

All I know is that a pair of dove have taken up roost somewhere in my backyard. They're out there coo'ing up the place like it's some kind of hourly motel.

They must know it's not season yet, although I'm not sure there is any law against catching them bare handed.

I'm surprised they have the nerve to be this close, for I am a dove murdering machine and they know not what fate they are tempting.

Yeah, they're kinda cool. Usually see one or two down here every summer. None so far, though.

I firmly believe the government should build mass breeding facilities throughout the country and open the season up all year long, by any means, with no limit.
