I have. Shooting clays and when I was done, I failed to put the safety on. standing there holding the gun pointed at the ground (finger nowhere near trigger) and it went off. I was a kid back then (17 I think). Early lesson learned.
I've had a couple of unintentional discharges, but no negligent ones. FWIW, I classify negligent as discharges where someone or something is or could be damaged. If it safely impacts the berm then no harm, no foul.
I have as well. And it was a muzzleloader left loaded from the year before. I knew it was unloaded, didnt bother checking my loaded mark on my ramrod or blowing down the barrel. I just placed a cap on the nipple and blew a hole in the yard. Scared the BeJezus out of me.
You mean like almost shooting yourself in the foot while messing with a small cheap pistol that your friend handed you and you didnt properly make sure was clear? Naa, never done that.

c'mon GTG, dont sell it short. Unless it was a defect in the firearm/ammunition you were unaware of that caused the discharge, its an ND.
I have had one. Ruger MK1 .22. I had gotten used to pulling the trigger after the mag was dry. This time it wasnt dry and I touched that puppy off right next to my right ear, pointed straight up. Broke all four rules, and it bit me in the ass.
I personally have not at a negligent discharge. Been shot twice. One was negligent, one was not. Negligent was a 12 gauge in the back and right arm hunting, by another hunter. The other was a 357 in the left leg, by a bad guy.

Incorrectly reassembled the firing pin into a carbine. Slapped the bolt home on a live round right into the garage wall. Skeered the bejesus out of me
