Interesting info on those horrid rich who don't pay their fair share!

But when politicians and pundits talk about the rich just getting richer and paying less taxes, they need to pay closer attention to the actual numbers.

The rich are pay less taxes than ever. Unless they are blowing $1000 at a bar every day - at the end they are getting richer : consumer products / cost of living are same for EVERYONE.

You know moboost, I find people like you kind of sad and shallow. I have a small business, I do specialty cabinets and remodel. Most of my clients are quite well off, those rich folks you despise. One of my best clients just cancelled a $40k job. He told me he is going to wait and see what happens over the next few months. He knows that his taxes will probably be going up quite a bit and he wants to see how obamacare will effect his business. He can definetly afford to pay more in taxes, but at what exspense? I lost the job, my plumber, electrician, heat&air guy, sheet rocker, painter, and all the materials I buy are not going to happen. Why don't you tell them about those evil rich people?! Anyone that doesn't understand trickle down has been drinking the kool aid. It sure as hell doesn't trickle up! Good luck with your diatribe against the people who spend the money that keeps the economy moving, I'll kep looking for another remodel job.

"A few years ago, the Maryland legislature passed a special tax on millionaires. The government expected an additional $106 million in revenue. However, it didn’t account for human behavior. Roughly 1 out of every 3 millionaires left the state, and instead, tax receipts were $200 million less, resulting in a $306 million gap from expectations."

Warning! Religious material contained in this post. If it offends you just don't read it. Simple as that.

2 Thess.2:9-12,15 New Living Translation
9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.
15 With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.
Make no mistake about it – we are presently living in the time described by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Thessalonians. Unfortunately, there are many people today in the United States that have been deluded into believing a lie. A lie that evil is good and good is evil. That aborting babies is a justifiable “right.” That homosexuality is “normal.” That euthanasia is commendable. That freedom of speech has its limits. That freedom of religion needs to be limited. That the “undesirables” among us should be eliminated for the common good. That there is no God and we all just showed up out of a glob of matter. That we can “save” ourselves and the planet if we only do certain things. The lie that democracy can co-exist with Islam. That we must never offend anyone but accommodate everyone. That multiculturalism is good for America. That spending astronomical sums of money is the answer to economic stability. The lie that Obama loves America. The lie that he has “no agenda.” That he is not a Marxist. That he is not a Muslim sympathizer. That he is a Christian.
Many more lies could be added to the list but Paul also points out that in addition to many being deluded (deceived) into believing many lies – there are those who actively support and enjoy evil rather than the truth. George Orwell said that, “In times of universal deceit – telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.” We are in such times of universal deceit. The socialist elitist politicians that have just been turned out of office by the American people cannot even see why they were voted out. They are deluded. They are blind to any resemblance of truth. They do not recognize or accept any view or possibility outside of their own scope of influence which is usually miles apart from the average God-fearing patriotic American. According to polls, there are many more conservatives than liberals in this country. If that is true, and I believe that it is, then most Americans think that spending more money to stimulate the economy is insane, that killing unborn and recently born babies is evil, that homosexuality is not normal (The practice of that lifestyle is certainly their right and they are free to do so if they choose, just don’t tell me it is “normal”), that the disabled and handicapped are just as deserving of dignity and life as anyone else, and the elderly are not a “liability” to be disposed of in the name of social convenience. Most Americans believe that marriage is a sacred institution, ordained by God, between a man and a woman.
As for Obama – he is an arrogant, narcissistic, ideologue who cares for no one but himself. He has done nothing but tear down this great country to everyone he meets and constantly berate the American people – even going so far as to recently call us – the enemy. He hates Israel and our allies and goes out of his way to insult them at every opportunity while at the same time praising Islam and the Muslim people. He, nor his cronies, will even call a terrorist a terrorist and through rogue treaties is trying to dismantle the nuclear capabilities of the United States – yet does nothing about Iran. He should come on out of the Muslim closet because he is a lot closer to Islam than he will ever be to Christianity. He has, in effect, cursed Israel, and the Bible says that as a result, he is now under a curse. He supports those who commit evil acts and does nothing. He is therefore complacent in their actions. As I have said before – Islam and Christianity(Judaism as well) are diametrically opposed – they cannot co-exist any more than light and darkness can exist at the same time.
In verse 15 Paul leaves us this word of admonition: Stand Firm and do not forget your traditions and teachings. Remember the words of your parents and grandparents. Study and call to mind the words left to us by our forefathers and mothers. Study the Word of God. Study American History and read the words of the patriots that made this country – this great experiment called democracy – possible. Do not be deceived.

I'm very sorry - if I offended you, but I highly doubt that you know any "people like me" - not even in a ballpark.

I have a small business, I do specialty cabinets and remodel. Most of my clients are quite well off, those rich folks you despise. One of my best clients just cancelled a $40k job. Why don't you tell them about those evil rich people?! Anyone that doesn't understand trickle down has been drinking the kool aid. It sure as hell doesn't trickle up!

So you have a business plan around single job - how does that trickle down taste now? Wow, just wow. Wouldn't you rather have 10 $4k jobs lined up from middle class people than getting bent over by one client?

Good luck with your diatribe against the people who spend the money that keeps the economy moving, I'll kep looking for another remodel job.

I own a business too. A luxury business at that. Most of my clients are very well off. When the recession hit - we just started taking smaller jobs and reduced the staff. And recession hit everyone - wealthier customers just have to save a bit longer for the same services/products. Don't get discouraged - most people are still making and spending money - and everybody is just more careful.

This is nonsense, the depression was because we did not tax enough and that is the cause of the recession in the 2000s???

You need to quit drinking the Kool-aide and take a deep breath to clear your head.

Exactly. Believing that not taxing the "wealty" enough is what caused the Great Depression and the Great Recession is laughable.
