So, I was in my LGS this week and I was talking with a buddy who works there. A customer had brought in a Walther P22. The slide under the ejection port had a noticeable bulge in it. So my buddy called Walther and Walther told him the slide was MIM and the bulging was "normal". Mmmmmmk, sure Mr. Walther.

I've managed to keep my wifes gen 1 P22 running, but I've seen plenty of them with cracked slides and what not, especially on the versions with a muzzle "compensator", or whatever you want to call it. Those slides are nasty.

I had one and it was a POS. Sent it back to S&W for repairs and called to check on it. Made the mistake of calling it a Smith and Walther. Didn't even hear crickets on the other end of the line.
