Moderates are typically just uninformed people. Decisions being made about their freedoms and way of life generally confuse/annoy them. I imagine they just want to live their lives and be entertained. Your typical low information voter.

This is pretty much it right here.

Another iteration is a "moderate" is too much of a pussiae to actually take a side. Because taking a position on either side has consequences and we can't have consequences now can we?

Why choose a side (right or left) when both are equally stupid in their stance on politics. Neither side will ever gain.more than a.minimal.majority. Both rely on propaganda and out right lies to persuade a few to swing the pendulum to their side.

What even better is how yall(righties and lefties) try to frame the argument so to think that more people are on your side. In fact the right, left and moderates are about equally split.

But keep trying to spread the lame idea that your with us or against us. Thats whats helping more and more voters register and vote as Independants.

More important than what is a moderate is how do we get polar opposites to work together? If we can't find the answer to this question our nation is doomed.

We can pound our collective chests all we want, but government is a lot like a successful marriage, theirs going to have to be some compromise.

You cant force them to work together. Political History has shown trends of ebb and flow to either side. Moderates, usually stay the course. The GOP is undergoing a radical shift to the far right. They are consuming each other, similar to what happened to the left when Clintons Dems lost touch with the base and pushed healthcare, gun control and other stuff.

Reasonable Moderates from both parties will eventually bring stability to one party or another.

This gridlock is a good thing. The less politicians do the better off we all are. They tend to screw things up and we are hurt by it. The past few years has proved that we don't really need a lot of things changed. The main things that could stand changes right now are the things that have been changed most recently that were screwed up from the start.

+1... It's why people leave parties. Dems become pubs, vice versa... Both parties suck

This is true. Thats why I chuckle when someone claims to only be a GOP or Dem, so they can vote in our closed Primary. Can a Republican vote in a Democratic Primary here in our state? NO. So if the Dem has a strong moderate Candidate, theres no way to get your vote to him if your registered as a GOP, other than in the General election.

And we all know the only real votes that count are cast in the General. Theres no need to be a Dem or Republican....who cares who gets nominated, vote for the best guy.

First you identify real problems. Then solve or remedy them one at a time. You only have gridlock and real problems when 2 sides cant agree. If you have gridlock, nothing gets addressed or solved. When you have gridlock you get Obamacare.
