Well, while he might have been a rich dude, he believed in tax cuts and served in WWII. Thus, after the PT-109 event, he suffered considerably. He's the last Democratic Party president that I agreed with on political philosophy.

Read some of JFKs speeches, after he was Pres, or even when he was running.
No way you will here a D say those things today. JFK was to the right of many Rs currently in office.
One could today run as a conservative R, by repeating JFK speeches, verbatim.

After JFK assassination, Ted Kennedy tried very hard to get the nomination for the 64 election, and was furious he didn't get it. He subsequently went far left, and dragged a lot of the Ds with him, as the decades went on.

I know Terry. I just get tire of his constant trolling. Oddly enough, the Kennedy speech was meant to protect his insanity and rights.
I was, and continue to be, a huge fan of JFK. I always wonder how much the world would have changed, if would have lived.
I remind buffer that Kennedy was the last, and only president, that stood up to the Russians.

I have to call your attention to President Reagan!!! Mr Gorbachev tear down this wall!!!

Here, but occasionally There.
In a sense, JFK was "pressed" into the Cuban missile crisis event and wasn't something he planned. In a sense, he got lucky because Kruschev blinked.

However, I've read some of Reagan's earlier writings and even before he considered running for president, he had something of a plan to confront the Russians and weaken them. So, his "action" was more than just a speech.

LBJ lead the way downward when he signed the Bill that created the "Great Society." Since LBJ we've steadily gone downhill.
I remember when JFK was killed, I was working on "Cherry Hill" beside Tinker AFB when it happened. JFK wasn't perfect but he was an American and stood for our values-unike more recent Democrats that bought the office.
