.he stayed under Baker (when he could have transferred elsewhere and likely been an impact player sooner)....

Actually recall that he already transferred once (from A&M) and lost a year as a result. He wasn't going to transfer DI again. PARTICULARLY because OU allowed him to play baseball - arguably his better sport - and very schools allow it (which is why he left Sumlin in the first place).

Lol well maybe Kyler isnt as virtuous as I gave him credit for....maybe he was just trapped at OU.....either way it turned out well for him

In the same sense Hurts probably didn't have options either. Not sure if he would've been granted a waiver last year to play immediately if he'd entered the transfer portal last year. Since he's a graduate student now it's a no brainer. So, he probably had nothing to gain by transferring previously, because he likely would've had to sit out last year if he did. Might as well hang around and see if Tau gets hurt and transfer at the end of the year. Don't get me wrong, he showed a lot of integrity in how he handled the whole situation but he did the best thing for HIM, in which he should.

Meh?? This guy is great. Only reason he lost his job was because Tua was better. Hurts is 6’’2” around 220 and runs a 4.4. His type of QB are hard to stop. Look at Baker and kyler. And hurts is a better runner than Baker. I believe under OU’s system and with our coaches Hurts will get even better at passing. I am very happy he is coming. Then Rattler can take over after Hurts is gone. And rattler can learn a lot from Hurts.

Rattler will likely red shirt which opens up the position for a year. Which Hurts fits into nicely. Our projected starter before the Rattler signing, Austin Kendall, didn't want one year playing then to lose his job to Rattler, so he's into the transfer portal.

Gotcha. Makes sense. Plus u understand that Rattler can’t be here until June, so there is that. Well, we’ll see and I betcha it will all be okay.
