I love the electoral college, but the graphic in the OP is wildly untrue.

LA County has about 10m folks. The blue area far exceeds that.

Fact. Those are all states that (each) are smaller than LA Country. Not combined are smaller than LA county. So the image is mistaken at best, or attempting to be deliberately misleading.

Edit: And that's not even talking about the weird spin on homelessness. I'm no fan of LA county (I like lots of places in California actually... LA is NOT one of them), but it's such an odd and complex point to take on to make a political statement.

Absolutely. We have to be careful not posting things just because we see them somewhere else. Los Angeles County is around 10 million.

Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas together are approximately the same. And those are not heavily populated states. So... whoever made that graphic (I know it wasn't you @SlugSlinger) needs kicked in the f***ing nuts.

Require ID's from a ll voters, otherwise the Dims will bus all the street people to the polls and instruct the how to vote for a pack of cigarettes.

Some of these homeless are by choice. On PBS they showed people working in silicon valley making big bucks and living in cars trucks rv's by choice. They featured one guy that was making over $100k and living in a box truck. He ate his meals at the company cafeteria, worked out and showered at the gym across from where his truck was parked. Partied with his friends til bedtime and was saving all that money to cash out and retire before 35 or 40.

Actually for most it isn’t by choice. They literally can’t afford housing within commute distance of their $100K jobs. The housing market in the Bay Area and tech centers is so bad, people literally sign interest only loans, as in they pay $2-3K per month and literally none of it ever goes towards principal. A clipboard shotgun shack would cost you $400K. It’s insane.

When I went back out there 16 years ago, a 1 bedroom studio (I.E. small) apartment was renting for $1500 a month. And that was in L.A. not San Fran. It was far worse up there and has been since I can remember. My aunt sold her 1 BR studio home in the Hollywood hills for $679K about 15 years ago. It wasn't even 1000 square feet, it was built in the '50s and in real need of updating!

Look at it here. Yes it got the update and the market did melt down a bit in L.A....
ETA: They padded the SF. It ain't that big unless they moved a wall.
