I am needing to use a fax sent to my email and do not know anything about it. What is involved in the two becoming one?
Hi ropinghorns, there are two ways to do it, one is to use a fax machine that supports fax to email. It is usually a network printer/scanner/fax. You put your email providers server settings into the machine, and it forwards the fax to your email. The other uses a fax modem in your pc. The fax machine I think is preferable as its accessible from anywhere as long as you can get email.
There is a MUCH easier way to do it - get an e-fax number.
There are many companies - I use RapidFax - basically when someone sends you a fax to your fax number (which they give you) it comes to your email - and to send an outgoing fax - you just send an email to [email protected] and it sends the fax to their machine - its 10 bucks a month and WELL worth it.
