Couple problems with his testing.
1. A solvent is a solvent and an oil is a lubricant.
He complains about some products damaging the styrofoam.
Well I want my solvent to clean my barrel not lubricate it. That means getting the plastic wad fouling out of my shotgun barrel which take a product that will eat plastic. I want a product to remove copper and lead fouling and I'm sure most of those will also eat plastic.
2. A good solvent is not a lubricant and was never intended as such.
I have 2 products on the shelf a solvent and a lubricant and they don't interchange.

For everything else I use WD-40 and am going to change to WD-40 Specialist if it works as good as he says.

WD-40 is a water displacement fluid. Not a lubricant nor a solvent. It does have a few properties that are beneficial, such as flooding a duck or upland gun that has been in the rain to remove water, but overall it has no place in guns as a lubricant.

Synthetic lube like Mobil 1 and a light coating of wheel bearing grease on sliding parts, has been proven to be the most effective in several study's and by folks in the field that shoot thousands of round a week.

I switched to Mobil 1 long ago, but I have a lifetime supply of the little plastic "M1 Garand grease pots" with the yellow lids.

I'll tell you right now the best lube you can can get is protec. It has been used in cars for years and has been proven to make wear significantly less. It does the same for a firearm. They also make gas additives. And it actually makes you get more mpg. Look this stuff up. My dad and uncle used to sell it back in the 80's. I use it and it works great. They also make some cleaner as well. http://www.proteclubricants.com/AFMT/Home.html. here is a video of a guy I went to church with for years. My dad and him are friends so that's how my dad found out about this stuff back then. You will no it be disappointed if you buy it. He is the guy talking at the first.
